Special Tone Modification Pickup Selection: Our Vintage 3 Pickup SG Harness is wired with a special modified schematic that gives you the best pickup combination selection for 3 pickups. The standard wiring for 3 humbucker guitar is Bridge / Bridge & Middle / Neck. With our modified set up the Neck & Bridge pickups still operate the same with the 3-way toggle as a standard SG or LP and you can bring the middle pickup in just by turning up the middle pickup volume in any of the switch positions. This gives you Bridge / Bridge & Neck / Neck with the ability to add the middle pickup in any position. This kit has 1 Master Tone and 3 Volume controls. What’s In The Kit: Bourns 500K Potentiometers Short-Split-Shaft Coarse Spline, Audio Taper. 1 Master Tone 3 VolumeSwitchcraft 3-Way R Angle L Shape Toggle switch with black tip.K40Y-9 .033uf PIO Vintage Aged Tone Cap (Qty 1 cap)Switchcraft ¼ inch Output JackAll prewired with Gavitt cloth push back wire thru outAssembly Template Hard Board All assembled except for final hook up of Pickups and ground connection50’s Wiring diagram and easy to read step by step installation instructions.Every kit goes thru our Performance and Accuracy Testing procedures before being shipped out. Our kits work. I personally prefer Bourns potentiometers over all other brands including CTS. I have found them to be smoother, responsive and longer lasting. The very best taper available. These pots are 18 spline shaft so USA type knobs will not fit without first pinching the top of the split shaft together a little and slowly push the knob on. Epiphone and off shore type will fit fine. We do offer a line of knobs that fit. **If you are not sure whether your guitar uses short (3/8″) or long (3/4″) shaft pots please check before ordering. Normally Pre-1977 Gibson Les Paul’s, All Epiphone’s, All SG’s use short shafts. This kit uses Short Shaft. If you have questions feel free to email me. Need New Knobs? Click Visit Store > Knobs Note: If you have an imported guitar (e.g. Japan, China, Epiphone etc.) you may need to modify the potentiometer holes to 3/8 inch to accommodate the Bourns bushings. Although these harnesses are pre-assembled and tested they do require some soldering to connect the pickups and the output jack. A 25 – 40 watt soldering iron is recommended. Make sure you are comfortable with making these connections or we suggest you take this to a qualified guitar tech to complete the installation. I can not be responsible if you damage a unit.
