eBay UNSIGNED PORCELAIN OR CHINA OPEN SALT CELLAR 100% HAND PAINTED BLUE FLOWERS This is a charming, diminutive and delicate little open salt cellar in the form of a round shallow bowl with an octagon shaped rim. It is beautifully decorated with 100% hand painted blue and white flowers and accompanying greenery. The top rim is accented with hand-painted gold trim. It is a high-quality piece of porcelain and the decoration is very well painted. Please note: There are faint “spots” showing in the photos, at least on my computer; these are from my camera and they are not on the salt. Please be sure to read the “Age and Condition” paragraphs below. I am gradually selling my salt cellar and individual nut dish collection that at one time was over 1,800 pieces. This particular piece has been in my collection since 1986. The salt is unsigned, but this same shape was used by Austrian, Limoges and Belleek companies. I see a salt of a similar shape and decoration pictured in the book 5,000 Open Salts by William Heacock & Patricia Johnson as Photo # 1278. I do my best to describe all items as accurately as possible and to the best of my ability. Some of my photos may be somewhat lighter or darker than actual to better show detail or color. The salt is in excellent to near mint original condition. Please look closely at the photos as they are an important part of my description of this item. There are no chips, flea bites, cracks, hairlines or repairs to the porcelain. The gold trim shows only the slightest amount of wear – see the photos. Please keep in mind the photos may be blown up at least 8-10 times normal, so anything you see will look 8-10 times larger in the photos than it really is. Please note: if you see a dark spot in the photos, it is from my camera and is not a mark on the piece. It will be either just to the right of center towards the bottom or slightly above center on the right side of the photo. Approximate Dimensions About 1.625” (4.1 cm) in diameter and sits about .625” (1.6 cm) off the table. Approximate Weight About .5 ounce (15 grams).
