This is like-new, still in the original plastic wrap. This Sony Handycam CCD-TRV68, NTSC Video, Hi8 Camcorder was tested and found to be in good working condition. This is a U.S. standard, NTSC video format, NOT European PAL format, video recorder and player. CONTENTS INCLUDED: Sony Hi8 analog HandyCam TRV68 – fully functioning, records and plays back tapes Sony carrying case for TRV camcorders Sony camcorder head cleaning tape (in side pocket of case) Sony A/V cable, plugs into camcorder, has audio and video RCA plug outputs Sony AC-L10A power supply (plugs into wall) Sony NP-F330 battery (Condition Unknown!! Have not used it in over 3 years) Monster S-Video cable, gold plated tips Elgato Video Capture device – S-video and audio inputs, USB-A output, like new VIDEO CAPTURE TIPS: Elgato Video Capture device. The Elgato box has a website address where you download the device drivers and video capture program FOR FREE, depending on your computer and operating system. Took 5 minutes; easy as pie, worked the first time. HOWEVER, as I learned the hard way, BE SURE to plug EVERY plug into EVERY receiver. I used the enclosed Sony A/V cable but did not connect the yellow video RCA plug because I was using the S-video cable, and the entire Hi8 mm tape recorded with NO Sound. Pulled out hair, plugged in yellow RCA video connection, sound came back, and still got a 400-line Hi-res video output. Plug everything in! Also, before I bought the Elgato, I tried an older video converter – Pinnacle, 12th gen. Drivers were a nightmare, had to make registry edits, still froze every 10 minutes, and video recording was slow and choppy. The Elgato works like a dream. My own opinion: Very few people are buying 2001 Handycams to take home video anymore, since your cell phone camera is generations ahead of this technology. Most people want this camera to convert family movies on 8mm (or Hi8 mm) tapes to .mp4 files, to watch on a computer or TV. I used this camera to “video capture” 52 of my old Hi8 mm tapes, recorded from 2000 to 2006, and it works very well. The resolution is roughly DVD quality. 4K didn’t exist then. I don’t have any blank Hi8 mm tapes or I’d send them along. I used the enclosed 8mm tape heads cleaner after every 6 hours of use (3 tapes). Only run it for 15 seconds, then back into the box. To record: I plugged the camcorder into the Elgato, the Elgato into my laptop, pressed play (on the camcorder) and record (on the laptop), and let it run for 2 hours. Clipped the best shots from that, as my kids’ attention spans are 5 minutes, and even I admit I took way too much footage at concerts.
