eBay You are now admiring some of my 1930’s reproduction work jackets that I have developed. Available in either horse or goat hide. A pattern I created by using the best aspects from the fundamental upgraded designs of a one time prolific vintage work jacket and early aviation equipment maker. Not to mention, this same type jacket was once worn by barnstormers and aviators from back in the day. All well prior to the advent of the more simple designed A-2 jacket. Now offered here by using a handful of these original jackets from within my personal collection. All accumulated over the years and now used to perfect my reproduction jacket. This particular jacket offered at this price point is a lined shawl type collar button up. Done in either horse or goat hide with lining in sizes 36 through 48 Regular at the advertised price point. But also available with pricing reductions by utilizing alternative hides and lining options. This particular model jacket is often referred to as a Cossack or Campus jacket. All the while maintaining the same basic unique & innovative design characteristics and building techniques from a seldom seen pre WW-2 flight or work jacket maker that I have developed. Judging by what I have gleaned from of this same original vintage jacket maker’s history, until now this particular design has not been manufactured since the mid 1940’s. No jacket seen in the descriptive images attached are available for sale here. Rather, fine examples of the same model jacket you can expect to have me custom build for you. Let me tell you all about the jacket that I am proposing for your build. To begin, I refer to this particular jacket’s pattern I developed as “The Edgewater” which was in fact derived from a jacket design favored by early aviators. In addition, a namesake one time call name when he first broke the sound barrier for my late father. A career USN attack pilot, top gun participant and combat veteran. One of a hand full of original 1930’s work jackets that I used to create this Edgewater pattern can be seen in the last of the descriptive images on my zip up model ( eBay item # 402706904571 ). A jacket that utilizes this same basic pattern as this Campus jacket being offered here. Recognizable because of It’s natural colored hide and built between 1934 &1935. Most notably, I also own a hand full of other originals from this same maker. All of which (earliest dates 1932 and also seen with the fore mentioned mid 1930’s and late 1930’s version) closely follow this campus jacket’s same design now offered here. Note, please see the vintage pic (last photo of Douglas “Wrong Way” Corrigan and Henry Ford taken in 1938) of this same type jacket worn back in the day. Not to mention if you google Einstein’s Menlo jacket you will see that my jacket is in fact an upgrade version of what Einstein wore. While not a one to one duplicate, with the Cossack jacket offered here I have revived the original over all design & best aspects of that same vintage design to create my Edgewater pattern. There are a hand full of jackets I previously of this proposed build seen within the descriptive images. Among those examplse include a lined burgundy (tea core) colored goat hide, lined dark brown (t-core) goat hide, nonlined russet colored goat hide and non lined dark brown colored horse hide campus jacket seen within the attached descriptive images. All of which almost cover the different options available with the this build.The exception being a button down patch pocket. As seen with my originals in the group photo. Among those innovative features from this vintage design are it’s original body panel configuration, collar, inset and half gusseted sleeves. All of which is based on a more complicated sleeve design and not particularly conducive to mass production in general. Because of this jacket’s more complicated upgraded designs & inherent additional needed details makes this jacket all the more unique & seldom utilized by most makers. However, all of which culminates into an upgraded & wonderfully comfortable jacket as offered here. This build can be done using three different types of external pockets. Either slash type hand warming, slash pocket with upgraded type stitch work or button up patch pockets. As either were done originally. Always equipped with an internal welted pocket as offered originally on the lined version. One of the notably changes and upgrade I made to this jacket was the addition of a leather hanger on the lined version. None of which were ever found present on any of my five originals. Done using a leather compatible vintage bar tack machine. The exact same machine used by Bronco on their War era A-2. All of which adds to the unique overall look for this jacket. The jacket’s proposed buttons I use are always a correct vintage. If available my preference is with Colt Mfg. (as seen on the russet colored goat hide) type. But not always available. To upgade my work I recently retired my once trusty 50 plus year old Reece 101 Keyhole Buttonhole machine for a brand new modern machine. Please see my new machine’s keyhole buttonhole examples within the descriptive images. Going forward my button holes will all done using my modern buttonhole machine and a marked upgrade. This new machine of mine does awesome work. Not to mention, among the 5 different machines I will be using to construct your jacket build complete. Please note that I have added a video to the descriptive images. That seen is a set of cuffs being stitched using my new button hole machine for one of my latest Sheeley Bros. button up Edgewater jacket builds. This jacket can be done using two different hides. There is a 5% discount for the unlined version. Available in a light to medium thick goat hide that is soft and pliable. Currently, I have a number of different color goat hides available. Keep in mind, horse hide is much more dense than goat and will require more break in.
