ACT 2. 52048 RICHARD WAGNER’S RIENZI. ACT 2. Hand Played by the German pianist Amadeus Nestler. Amadeus Julius Nestler (14 July 1870 † 24 August 1964) was a German pianist and music teacher. Her attended the Royal High School in Leipzig from 1880 to 1890 , which he left with the school certificate. He then trained as a concert pianist at the Leipzig Conservatory as a student of Carl Reinecke and Salomon Jadassohn . As a result of nervous overwork, he temporarily studied law at the University of Leipzig , but returned to music in 1896 and ceded the virtuoso career. Originally a repeater at Leipzig City Theatre, from 1897 to 1898 he was a chaplear at Lübeck City Theatre. From 1898 to 1909 he performed as a concert director. In 1909 he was finally appointed piano teacher at the Leipzig Conservatory. Since 1904 he has married Hanna Hirt. Her daughter Erika (born May 25, 1911) came from her marriage. The rolls (Registered trademark Animatic) are fully compatible with all standard 88-note player pianos and Duo-Art and Ampico reproducing pianos set at 88-note mode. The roll leaders are often made of green paper. Recorded Animatic rolls are labelled “Künstler-Rolle”, most often including the pianist’s signature of the roll label and piano roll label and often a photo of the artist. Many of the compositions are played by the composers. Hupfeld/ Animatic rolls also have theme perforations identical to the Aeolian “Themodist” system and these will operate on any player fitted with that kind of theme system. Additionally, the rolls all have full auto-sustain pedal tracks. Hupfeld rolls are the finest of all hand-played rolls issued. The punching step rate used to make these is as high as 90-steps-per-inch giving over three times the recording resolution when compared against many Aeolian and other recordings. Widely regarded in Europe as one of the most sought-after roll-types from both a quality and musicological perspective, they are almost unknown in the US as Hupfeld never marketed these to America ever having determined they had enough trade worldwide already. The rolls are compatible with all 88-note player pianos. Also, Duo-Art and Ampico players set at 88-note mode.
