MIRIAM HASKELL 40’S 2-PC SUITE GREEN CÔTELÉ PÂTE DE VERRE ICE CLEAR ROSE MONTÉE GOLD GILT BRASS ACCENTSFor your consideration, a rare find. The set is art nouveau inspired and consists of a hinge bracelet and matching earrings. The pieces are designed with gold gilt brass findings with emerald green côtelé pate de verre beads with ice clear rose montée. The bracelet is a jewel encrusted chunky hinge link style. The links are gilt brass connected by small hinges which allows the bracelet to wrap easily around the wrist when being worn. The top of each link is a cluster of gold gilt filigree flower shape with handwired ice clear rose montée. Each flower has an emerald green côtelé pate de verre beads mounted in an individual collet held in place by tiny prongs. The flowers are hand wired to the gold gilt filigree base. It fastens with a concealed box clasp and push tongue latch. There is also a safety chain for additional security. The bracelet is signed “MIRIAM HASKELL” on a small oval cartouche on the underside of the bracelet as well as the box clasp. The earrings are large asymmetric clusters of emerald green côtelé pate de verre beads with ice clear rose montée wired to gold gilt leaf frond. The pieces are handwired to the gold gilt filigree brass base. They fasten with paddle back clips. The earrings are signed “MIRIAM HASKELL” on each of the paddle clip backs.Weight & Dimensions: The pieces of this set are not only eye catching and fairly large, they have a substantial weight. The bracelet weighs 41 grams and each earring weighs 10 grams. The weights and measurements are approximate.Bracelet ~ 8”L x 1’W x ¾”H.Earring ~ 1 ¼”L x 1”W x ⅝”H.Condition: The pieces of this set are pre-owned vintage acquired at an estate auction in Texas. This rare find is beautiful to see and wear. The piece dates late 1940’s. The beads of all the pieces are well preserved with no noticeable bruises, cracks, chips or other surface wear. The beads have retained their beautiful rich emerald green color. The ice clear rose Montée are sparkly. The gold gilt brass surfaces have some tarnished but it is not distracting or unsightly and is consistent with the nature of brass as it ages. The brass surfaces of the earrings are also slightly tarnished, but still quite beautiful with a Russian gold hue like the bracelet. I have not noticed any patina. The undersides of both earrings are fairly clean. The clip backs are taut and fit comfortably and snug. The box clasp and push tongue latch fastens securely with a snap. The safety chain is also tarnished and has some patina, but it fastens securely. Please note it is the nature of brass to tarnish and develop some patina over time. Overall condition of this bracelet and earrings very well preserved, however, look at the pictures so you can make an assessment for yourself. If you like I can send more pictures and will answers any questions you have. The construction and finish of each piece is sturdy and compact. The best quality findings, imported from Japan and Europe, were used in its construction. This Haskell vintage set is exquisitely beautiful and the attention to detail is consistent with similar high end Haskell pieces produced during this period. NOTE: All pieces in this auction are part of my personal collection of vintage Haskell costume jewelry. They have been in storage for years and may need a small amount of cleaning. Most of my pieces have been gently worn, a few are unworn. I do not clean my Haskell pieces as I am not an expert and some cleaning agents can be corrosive to vintage costume jewelry, particularly faux pearls.This item is being SOLD AS IS.
