eBay 50 to 200 Seeds 100% ORGANICALLY GROWN Helianthus Annuus MAMMOTH RUSSIAN Sunflower These seeds were harvested in 2022, and have a germination rate of almost 90% Gorgeous super tall plants with massive leaves that shoot up to up to 12′ tall (my shortest one was about 8′) that get truly astonishingly large flower heads on them. In the picture, you can see that the one measured is about 12″ across. However, that is after it’s been dried, and WITHOUT the petals. So they can be several inches larger than that when they are in full bloom, on the plant. The problem with how large they are is that they do begin to sag quickly once they open fully. It helps to stake them, if you can find something tall enough. Of course all sunflowers will begin to nod after several days, and there isn’t much you can do about that. But these are so laden with large seeds, they are very heavy! These are the best roasting seeds, with the gray and sometimes bronze colored stripes and nice hard shell. And another cool thing about them, is … if you want to mix it up a little bit, if you cut the top of the stalk off right as the flower bud is forming, it will explode with flower buds all over the stalk, and instead of having one large flower, you’ll have tons of smaller ones. Larger seeds, such as these, are shipped regular first class mail with tracking in padded mailers to protect them from being crushed, which is why the prices start out a little more expensive than the smaller seeds, for the smaller amounts. Seeds come with planting instructions and plant info I never use any chemical pest control and only all natural fertilizers. I use compost, blood meal, bone meal, fish emulsion, egg shells, and manure on a regular basis in my gardens. I also use additional all natural methods of fertilizing, but never never NEVER use anything like Miracle Grow or other all purpose fertilizers which I think, in the long run, do much more harm than good. I prefer growing heirloom, open pollinated varieties so I can collect seeds and know exactly what Im going to get when I plant them. I also like foraging for wild plants and growing wild medicinal plants. If you have any questions, you can message me.
