Du bist Musik – Die Filme (6-CD Deluxe Box Set) Valente, Caterina 6-CD box (LP format) with 182-page bound book, 157 tracks. Playtime approx. 382 minutes. In 1954 Caterina Valente’s star rises radiantly in the German Schlager sky. After the first record successes, the film industry also became aware of the spirited young singer. The first leading role in ‘Liebe, Tanz und 1000 Schlager’ brings the big breakthrough. The film is one of the box office hits of the year 1955 — by 1962 another eight films were made. It’s up to Caterina Valente herself to keep it that way. Her career is becoming ever more international, her interest in the new medium of television ever clearer. Valentes’ musical success, however, ensures that her German films also become export hits. These CD boxes deliver on six CDs the music of all twelve Valente strips, generously arranged with opening and revue music as well as alternative recordings of the songs. For the first time the original recordings from ‘Mannequins for Rio’, 2Ball in the Savoy’, ‘Casino de Paris’, ‘Snow White and the 7 Jugglers’ and many others can be heard here. And of course the Elvis Presley, Maurice Chevalier and Charlie Chaplin parodies from ‘ …. and in the evening to the Scala’. Especially interesting for fans and collectors: a title recorded for the film ‘Das einfache Mädchen’ but not used. Also the duets with Bill Haley, Bibi Johns, Peter Alexander, Walter Giller, Illo Schieder, Dietmar Schönherr, Helen Vita, Ruth Stephan and of course Silvio Francesco are not missing. On CD 6 there is a ‘film audio picture’ from 1956 for the film ‘Bonjour, Kathrin’ with Hans Joachim Kulenkampff . Opulent and attractively equipped is also the bound book with fascinating film posters from all over the world and many, partly unpublished photos.
