Bulova Accutron Space View M5 Bamboo Belt Curios Curio/Near mint Description Condition: Used ⚫️ In the early to mid-1960s, just before the release of quartz watches, the tuning fork clock developed by BULOVA surprised the world. Until then, mechanical watches had been vibrating 5 to 8 times per second, but this time, the tuning fork clock transmitted the natural vibration of the tuning fork to the gears, achieving 360 vibrations in one go, achieving a daily difference of 2 seconds at the time. This revolutionary tuning fork clock disappeared from the history of watches with the subsequent appearance of inexpensive quartz watches. Therefore, the production volume is low, and working products are very rare. In addition to the original BULOVA Accutron, other companies such as Omega (f300) and IWC (electronic) have also received technical support and commercialized the clock, but the most popular item among enthusiasts is the Space View, which shows the structure of the tuning fork clock.
